My partner and I moved to Rio Rancho (Loma Colorado) from Dallas, TX in 2014 after trying to build a new home in Santa Fe which is about an hour to the north. No problems so far living here and being a gay couple, but it is VERY, VERY difficult to meet other gay men for friendship because the community is so small and not organized like in Dallas. There is a Lesbian couple who live across from us, but nothing in common. Don’t move here if you need to work unless you already have a job lined up. Very difficult to find employment here. There may be some reverse discrimination against Whites?? It’s beautiful here with the mountains, and the weather is fantastic. But, we are actually thinking about moving to SW Florida(Sarasota, Ft. Myers, or Punta Gorda) where there is a bigger, more est. gay community.
